What is SAT?
SAT - Scholastic Assessment Test, is one of the exam systems which is quoted worldwide. The system evaluates the academic preparation of the applicant when entering the university. In most universities in the United States, this particular exam is decisive in the selection of applicants. Both local and international students are required to pass the exam if they wish to pursue higher education in the United States.
The general test consists of three parts:
Focuses on reading comprehension and understanding vocabulary in context. Passages in this section cover a variety of topics, from U.S. or world literature to historical and scientific passages. This section tests two primary skills:
Command of Evidence: the ability to find concrete evidence within the passage to support the author’s claims or answers to specific questions;
Words in Context: the ability to decipher the meanings of vocabulary words within the context of the passage, and ability to understand how word choice influences the style and tone of a text.
Measures the student’s ability to identify and correct grammatical errors and stylistic weaknesses within passages (proofreading and editing skills). This section also involves passages that cover a wide array of topics, including careers, history/social studies, science, and the humanities and measures the following skills: Command of Evidence, Words in Context, Expression of Ideas, Standard English Conventions.
Includes multiple-choice test questions. Performing this part requires knowledge of algebra, geometry, statistics and the basics of the theory of probability, as well as the ability to understand tables, graphs and charts. There are two Math sections: one where the student is allowed to use a calculator and one where he or she is not.
Course description:
The course consists of two parts: English language and mathematics. Classes are held in a classroom with presentation equipment and air conditioning available. Classes are conducted exclusively in English. Groups up to 15 people.
Tuition fee (KGS) 6000 includes:
- 24 (12 English + 12 math, length of each class 1 hour 20 minutes) lessons with qualified teachers, SAT-consultants;
- two full SAT practice tests to simulate the actual conditions of the exam followed by comments from the teachers.
Places are limited (15).
Mandatory conditions for registration:
- Willingness to attend full-time classes, as well as to allocate at least 6 hours per week for independent work;
- The level of English proficiency must be Upper-Intermediate or higher. To determine the level, you can
IMPORTANT! Please note that preparation for the SAT test involves a strong knowledge of English as well as a basic knowledge of the school mathematics curriculum. Therefore, before taking the test, it is necessary to plan enough time to prepare for the test, based on the current level of English and basic knowledge of mathematics. REMEMBER! Nothing is impossible and you can prepare with even the most elementary level! However, of course, it will take a lot of time and effort. Always plan your training based on your current level of knowledge and we will help and teach you!
