In 2022, at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic, the UN General Assembly declared March 5th as the International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation. The significance of this resolution lies in raising global awareness of the risks posed to humanity by weapons of mass destruction and illegal attempts to proliferate them in violation of international legal norms.

The Faculty of Television Cinema and Media Arts is pleased to share the successes of our alums! TCMA alumna Saadat Sataeva participated in the international film festival CINEMA LOVE, which took place this year from September 13 to 22 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

On March 27, AUCA, the Faculty of Anthropology and International Development, hosted another lecture in the NGO's and International Development class. The lecture featured Chyngyz Aidarbekov, a former Ministry of Foreign Affairs and currently Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The authors of the yearbook are experts: Leyla Delovarova (section on Kazakhstan), Tatiana Zlobina (section on Kyrgyzstan), Dmitry Poletaev (sections on Russia and Turkmenistan), Saodat Olimova (section on Tajikistan), Lyudmila Maksakova (section on Uzbekistan).

  On March 6, AUCA, the Faculty of International and Comparative Politics, hosted another lecture as part of the Ambassador Talks series. The lecture featured Maksat Tentimishov, former director of the 4th Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

My name is Oybek Turaev, Software Engineering, 2024 – graduate year. My exchange semester at Bard College, New York, was deeply rooted in my commitment to broadening my academic horizons and immersing myself in a diverse educational environment.

      At the heart of academic exploration and global engagement, our university had the honor of hosting yet another enlightening series of Ambassador Talks. The International and Comparative Politics department arranges the event in close cooperation with the President's Office at the American University of Central Asia.

The Spotlight Initiative recently hosted an award ceremony at the AUCA to celebrate the graduates of the kNOwVAWdata online course. Launched in 2022, the course is part of the regional program to address violence against women (VAW) and promote gender equality in Central Asia.

About the speaker:Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, an Oxford and Yale alumnus, returned to Myanmar in 2014 to empower the youth and foster responsible leadership through liberal arts and sciences education. In 2017, he founded Parami Institute to offer innovative programs for Myanmar college graduates.
