Media, Applied Geology laboratories opening at AUCA
The American University of Central Asia is officially opening two new laboratories: a geology laboratory for the Department of Applied Geology and a media laboratory for the Department of Television, Cinematography and Visual Art. Both laboratories will be functional starting in the 2016-2017 academic year, the same time as their respective departments.

CEU Global Teaching Fellows Gain Valuable Experience at AUCA
Maria Temmes, doctoral candidate in the Department of Gender Studies, and Elena Popa, who received her MA in philosophy from CEU and successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in philosophy at CEU in January 2016, gained valuable experience at AUCA this academic year through CEU’s Global Teaching Fellowship Program (GTFP).

Seth Fearey has already lived and worked in the Kyrgyz Republic for seven years, making a name for himself as one of our student’s favorite professors in AUCA’s MBA program. New Undergrad Programs to Open at AUCA
Starting from the 2016-2017 academic year, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) will have two new departments: the Department of Television, Cinematography and Visual Art and the Department of Applied Geology. Abstract: Memory is an often foregrounded, but also highly contested theme in post-Soviet societies. Scholars have broadly investigated the legacies of Soviet and pre-Soviet past in today’s Central Asia, and some have addressed the political implications of specific historical accounts and the active political use of historical narratives to legitimise contemporary processes.
