April 22, 2016, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) will host a charity concert in support of children with autism. Spanish guitarist Guillem Perez Quer, winner of several international music competitions, will be performing.

From March 11 to March 14 of 2016, Chess Tournament among universities took place in Kyrgyz Republic. AUCA men’s chess team has won 2 golden and 2 silver medals in First League of the 2016 Universiade Student Games, women’s team was awarded with silver and bronze prizes.

Gulnaza Khalmanbetova, from the Business Administration department (BA-113) at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), is currently studying at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. Gulnaza shares with us her experiences and anecdotes from her South Korean exchange program.

Spring break was busy for Anguelina Popova, Director at the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT), and Assistant Professor of Digital Literacy. She participated in a series of workshops hosted by the Center for Learning and Teaching at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.

April 5, 2016, a group of representatives of Polish universities and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education met with chair of the psychology department Elena Kim, international student coordinator Iliyas Mamadiyarov, and coordinator of academic affairs Nazgul Koilubaeva to discuss potential academic collaboration and the development of exchange programs between Polish universities and AUCA.

The MBA (Master of Business Administration) is the only professional qualified internationally recognized degree in business administration. The MBA program itself offers in-depth knowledge of business management, consulting and professional development.

Jeff Potts, an exchange student from Colgate University in New York, USA, is currently studying Environmental Management and Sustainable Development at AUCA. Jeff is originally from Pennsylvania, USA. He talks to us about why international students should apply for AUCA’s exchange program.

Between March 21 and 25, 2016, an assistant professor of Economics Department Rahat Sabyrbekov participated in a conference at Stanford University in the US. He told us about this trip in a short interview.

March 25, 2016, a team of AUCA students calling themselves “Eagles” took first place at a national tourism marketing competition. Participants came from six universities across the Kyrgyz Republic. The competition took place at the Kyrgyz Economics University (KEU). This was the second year in a row an AUCA has won first place.
