On September 7-11, 2016, Peg Peoples, the Associate Vice President for Education Initiatives at the Bard Institute for Writing & Thinking, visited the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) to meet and conduct workshops with faculty and staff members. She visited NGA, the WARC, FYS, GenEd, and talked with directors, faculty, and tutors. 

The American University of Central Asia (AUCA) Law Division and the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law in Croatia conducted the 2016 Summer School in Human Rights in early September. The week-long seminar occurred in Kyrgyzstan and included five AUCA students, four AUCA professors, five University of Zagreb students and three University of Zagreb professors.

On September 6, 2016, the “Native Pride Dancers,” Native American dance group from the United States and student’s theater of AUCA “Mirrors,” will be performing “Dancing through Life” and show master classes at the AUCA.

On September 2, 2016, new faculty at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) met for orientation.

The first day of Orientation Week 2016 started with the Welcoming Ceremony of Freshmen. American University of Central Asia (AUCA) president Andrew Wachtel gave the freshmen a few introductory pieces of advice.

On August 17, 2016, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) started its Orientation Week for the class of 2020. This year, AUCA has an incoming freshman class of 359 students, a record-setting number at AUCA.

A child’s university education should be taken seriously. Not only is it nearly a half-decade of their time, it creates a solid foundation for success in life. The New Generation Academy preparatory program enables high school graduates to make the most of their time at university by providing them with proficiency in multiple foreign language, communication skills, and critical thinking.

Zhanygul Kaparova is one of the outstanding graduates of the International Business Law department (IBL) at AUCA. She was a two-time member of the Student Senate, a SILC member; she also was an active member of AUCA clubs such as “Eloquent Crew”, AIESEC, MUN Club, Unity Fund, Rotaract. Zhanygul shared her thoughts with us about her life as a student at AUCA and decided to give some advice to current undergraduates.

Zemfira Inogamova-Hanbury, our alumni ambassador in London, UK, tells us about how AUCA has helped her career path. Zemfira graduated from AUCA in 2006 from the Cultural Anthropology department and has recently organized an AUCA alumni meeting in the UK.
