On April 27-29, 2022, the Department of Applied Geology (AGEO) and the Department of Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science (ESCS) students attended the XIV International Conference of Young Scientists and Students «Modern techniques and technologies in scientific research» - 2022
Every year, since 2009, based on the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the hill above Koi-Tash village, the International Conference of Young Scientists and Students "Modern Techniques and Technologies in Scientific Research" is held. The year of
2022 is not the exception - from April 27 to April 29, 2022, more than 70 young scientists from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Russia met within the framework of this Conference. AUCA group with professors Dr. Zheenbek Kulenbekov and Dr. Sagynbek Orunbaev with AGEO and ESCS students visited the conference.
The main goals pursued by the organizers of the event are to increase the level of scientific research and expand the scientific horizons of young scientists and students, the integrate science and education, the development of the creative activity of scientific youth, as well as the
popularization of scientific research conducted at the Research Station of RAS. We have received a confirmation of accepting 2 AUCA research papers, which were done by our students: - Arsen Mamadbekov, a sophomore student of AGEO, and Aiperi Stambekova, a sophomore student of ESCS.
Student’s impressions:
Arsen Mamadbekov
On April 28 and 29, 2022, we had the opportunity to participate and make presentations in the event called "INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS AND STUDENTS" which was held at the Scientific Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek. The conference was attended by both students and people who took place in science, listening to which was engaging and advantageous. The topics of the reports of the participants touched upon the topics of geology, geophysics, ecology, mathematics, and physics. Being not strongly associated with some of these areas, listening to the speakers was quite enjoyable.
The station itself is located in the mountains, offering a gorgeous view and where you can enjoy the beauty of nature. The trip left strong emotions. Participation in this kind of event was effective and beneficial for me, as I spoke to the scientific community, and it was necessary to get some recommendations and reviews from them. All this, of course, left a valuable and interesting, and profitable imprint on my study.
Aiperi Stambekova
My research paper "Dynamics of changing chi-a concentrations in the Kumtor tailing, using sentinel". The Research Methods class teaches students how to properly research and then write correctly. My research paper was written under the mentorship of Professor Sagynbek Orunbaev. This work was written for about one month as it contains scientific articles and my research on remote sensing analysis of satellite data. Then this work was sent to the SR RAS «Молодежная конференция», then I got approval to participate.
The writing process was exciting for me. My essays, writing, and research papers were evaluated only at the university. Then I thought that participation in the conference will bring me experience, emotions, and development in learning and how it happened. It is great that these kinds of events exist. I am very glad that I was able to be a part of this event.
There were great speakers, a lot of communication and discussion. It was very nice to meet and listen to professionals and students. The conference was at a high level! I would also like to say that the Conference gives so many skills, information, and networking in 2 days. That is why I recommend students to participate in different events. This is the way to a successful future!
AUCA students also attended Scientific and technical excursions for students and young scientists.
On April 29, 2022, within the framework of the XIV International Conference of Young Scientists and Students "Modern Techniques and Technologies in Scientific Research" (Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), the main goal of which is to
increase the level of scientific research, expand the scientific horizons of young scientists and students, the integrate science and education, the development of the creative activity of scientific youth - several scientific and technical excursions were held, involving the familiarization of participants with the main areas of scientific research conducted at the Research Station of RAS.
The excursion program was opened by a geological and mineralogical exhibition (the head of the exhibition is the Researcher Vinera Mukhamadeeva), which allowed participants to join the magical world of crystals and minerals, as well as learn more about various rock formations of Kyrgyzstan and not only.
The excursion program continued with a review of seismological, electromagnetic, and geomagnetic observations carried out by the Laboratory for Integrated Studies of Geodynamic Processes in Geophysical Fields of the Research Station of RAS. The Applied Geology department of AUCA thanks the Research Station of RAS for organizing an excursion and all participants for their interest in the event and wish them further success!
