OSUN 2020 summer courses
September 8, 2020
Bard College, in cooperation with the Open Society University Network, conducted a range of online lectures over this summer. Building on OSUN themes of Human Rights, Sustainability, and Civic Engagement, these courses offered continuing students a chance to earn credits from Bard College while learning and working with faculty and students from across the OSUN network in an exciting collaborative environment. All courses were lectured online.
Being a part of OSUN and partner of Bard College, AUCA did not stand aside. AUCA President Dr. Andrew Kuchins lectured the Global History Lab: A History of the World since 1300 class together with Prof. Jeremy Adelman and Teacher Assistants: Genie Yoo and David Robertson (Princeton Unversity.
Over two months, students had a chance to explore the history of the modern world since Chinggis Khan’s armies conquered China and Baghdad in the thirteenth century. They've learned how to think about the past—to consider models and concepts for explaining the cycles of world integration and disintegration to the present, like the rise and fall of the empire and the role of free trade, religious conversion, and global governance.
Our students also actively participated in the OSUN 2020 summer courses to gain as much knowledge as possible.
The Open Society University Network (OSUN) is a new global network that integrates learning and the advancement of knowledge across geographic and demographic boundaries, promotes civic engagement on behalf of open societies, and expands the access of underserved communities to higher education.
