Book and Copyright Day

On April 23rd, in the framework of World Book and Copyright Day, a presentation on "Common mistakes at the conclusion of the publishing contract"was given in the AUCA Library. Aisulu Chubarova, Assistant Professor from the International & Business Law Department, presented information on how to comply with copyright, what to take into consideration when a copyright agreement is signed, and the main points of the Creative Commons license.

The audience asked questions and shared their views and experience. For example, G. Dyusheeva, teacher and author of a Kyrgyz language textbook, offered an anecdote about her experience of working with a local publisher who violated their contractual obligations to her.

Publications prepared by the AUCA professors and researchers such as A. Wachtel, Z. Kudabaev, Ch. Chotaeva, Ch. Turdalieva, T. Bobushev, A. Akmatova, L. Zhdanova, S. Kydyraliev, T. Tiulegenov, G. Gorborukova and others were all available for viewing at the ongoing book exhibition, as well as University publications and periodicals. The exhibition will run until the end of April.
