Goal: To acquire the basic skills necessary to use the popular graphics program Adobe Photoshop

• Introduction
• Selection of a specific area in the image
• Operations with layers
• Tools for drawing
• Operations with channels
• Filters
• Retouching/correcting images
• Complex assembling tasks

Tasks:

 To teach students:

• to use drawing tools
• to correct images
• to change the main parameters of the image
• to use layers
• to remove defects and retouch images
• to apply filters
• to choose the optimal format for the file when saving/exporting the image

By the end of the course the students will:

• understand the differences between vector and bitmapped graphics
• acquire basic knowledge of color models
• acquire the basics of graphic terminology

Prerequisite: Basic computer skills
