Zanré Reed is a full-time lecturer, interdisciplinary multi-platform storyteller, and documentary filmmaker from Cape Town, South Africa.
He holds an MFA in Documentary Film Directing from DocNomads and remotely teaches Documentary Film Directing, Radio & Podcast Production, and Photography Creativity at the University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
With an interest in creative nonfiction, that deals primarily with memory, childhood, and family narrative, he is particularly interested in films and audio documentaries that transform personal histories into public installations that manage to say something about the human experience.
Since having studied and practiced across a range of media, he brings an interdisciplinary, eclectic approach to his classes, integrating references from poetry, photography, painting, film, philosophy, and technical expertise across multiple platforms.

private worlds and share experiences, reflections, and personal sounds on tape
while living in the capital city of Kyrgyzstan.
From stories about losing things, to feeling alone in a foreign city, this podcast
explores universal themes that connect all of us in Bishkek.
