Dear AUCA Faculty and Staff,
In accordance with the decision of the Republican Headquarters for the fight against Covid-19, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State of Emergency (SE) in the Kyrgyz Republic ends at midnight on May 10, 2020. The curfew will be canceled at the same time.
Because of a difficult epidemiological situation in a number of regions of Kyrgyzstan, in these regions, including the city of Bishkek, the Emergency Situation (ES), established on March 22, 2020, will remain in force for an undefined period of time.
Following the requirements of the Emergency Situation (ES) in the Kyrgyz Republic, only employees of authorized organizations are allowed to move around the city and to minimum distances and only for the urgent need (i.e. purchase of medicines, food, etc.). Educational institutions are not included in the list of allowed organizations. We kindly ask everyone to strictly follow the established regulations.
For the sake of your safety, the AUCA administration closely monitors the measures taken and restrictions imposed by the Kyrgyz authorities, and bring its actions in line with the government decisions. We will inform you about all the relevant changes.
The rules and restrictions established previously by the administration of AUCA will stay valid as long as it is required by the Kyrgyz authorities. Our current model of operation does not require changes yet as it is adequate to the requirements of the Emergency Situation.
We remind you that the AUCA administration introduced the following rules for the period of the Emergency Situation:
The AUCA campus is closed for students, faculty, and staff.
All AUCA activities are transferred to a remote mode of operation.
The learning process and examinations will be conducted online.
Strengthened control over the sanitary condition of the AUCA dormitory will continue.
Working hours and working schedules remain the same as they were before the shutdown. All the work must be fully carried out online. Salaries will be calculated and paid as usual according to labor agreements.
All administrative work goes online. We ask administrative staff to be as accessible as possible by means of communication.
All financial documents, reports, memos will be approved online through e-mails.
Department Heads, Program Coordinators, and heads of offices of AUCA should necessarily inform the faculty and staff, who do not have access to their AUCA mailbox, about the content of the present letter.
We also inform you that the counseling service is still available free-of-charge for faculty, staff, and students upon call or email requests.

Dear AUCA Staff,
Following the proposal of the Security Council, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic decided to introduce an emergency regime on the territory of the whole republic from March 22 for 1 month. The decision of the government is of a framework of nature. Specific measures and restrictions will be determined by the government, as appropriate. The AUCA administration closely monitors the measures taken and the restrictions imposed and bring its actions in line with government decisions. We will inform you of all the changes that are relevant to our teamwork.
In previous letters from the AUCA administration, the University’s rules for quarantine were given. At present, there is no need to make significant changes to the rules previously established by the AUCA administration, since they are adequate to the emergency regime. If necessary, the rules will be amended, which we will inform you by email.
We remind you that the AUCA administration introduced the following measures and restrictions for the period of the emergency situation:

Dear AUCA Faculty,
According to the decision of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic about the need of quarantine for schools and high educational institutions and the decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic #282/1 announced on March 14, 2020 (about premature holidays in schools and universities), we inform you that AUCA will be quarantined starting March 16, 2020 for the next 3 (three) weeks.
We are working on transfering classes to distance learning mode after the Spring Break. More detailed information about classes in remote mode will be provided a little later.
All the days of the quarantine will be considered as working days, wages for those days will be charged the full amount. All administrative work will go by online mode, we kindly ask you to be as accessible as possible by means of communication, for prompt resolution of issues. All financial documents, reports, memos will be coordinated online through e-mail messages.
