Our Students


Students at the American University of Central Asia have proven to be active and caring citizens of their respective communities both on the local and international levels. They have been working on a variety of civic engagement projects that improve the lives of thousands of individuals from different backgrounds, socioeconomic and age groups, like women, high school and university students, children with special needs, etc.

Abdul Walid Azizi (ICP-118) - Project Leader of “Summer Camp Afghanistan”

Abdul Walid Azizi had been working on “Summer Camp Afghanistan” for four consecutive years of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. This project is a weeklong workshop dedicated towards educating Afghan high school students in the following areas: English language proficiency, leadership, study abroad and career development. Thanks to this project, many participants were able to prepare and enroll into prestigious universities abroad after attending the workshops that introduced them to multiple international scholarship opportunities.

Nurmukhamad Turkbaev (BA-118) - Project Leader of “South Youth Association”

Nurmukhamad Turkbaev implemented “South Youth Association '' project in 2018 and 2019. The primary goal of this project was to advance the debate skills of high school students living near the border zone between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan that is known for frequent intraethnic clashes. A joint three-day Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop was held for youth from both countries in order to create a more peaceful future given that these students are the future leaders of their generation.
