Dordoi Football Club is helping AUCA students to have healthy bodies as well as healthy minds. A football pitch at the new campus will be sponsored by the club, and will be a gathering place for the surrounding community.
Kumtor Operating Company and AUCA are partnering to educate leaders in environmental science. A new undergraduate program will open in Fall 2013, with Kumtor sponsoring curriculum development, scholarships, and the construction of a scientific laboratory at the new campus.
Dr. Chadha is a photographer and supporter of the Journalism and Mass Communications department at AUCA. Currently he supports 10 scholarships to the university, and at the new campus he will support state-of-the-art technology to help support photography and journalism in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Mr. Salymbekov is the owner of Dordoi Plaza, as well as an alumnus of AUCA. He supports various efforts around the country, many linked to his passion for football. At the new AUCA campus, Mr. Salymbekov is helping build a football pitch, so that AUCA students can live and study healthily.
Is an Advisory Director (formally Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, 2000-2013) of General Atlantic LLC, a leading private investment firm. Mr. Nimetz was born in New York, and attended Williams College, Oxford University and Harvard Law School, where he was president of the Harvard Law Review. Mr. Nimetz is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves as the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in connection with the continuing negotiations between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Mr. Nimetz will sponsor a student learning computer lab at the new campus.
Mr. Soros is the main benefactor of the American University of Central Asia. Mr. Soros has donated over $15 million to AUCA since 1993, and AUCA students, faculty, staff and alumni have benefitted from Open Society Foundations grants, and opportunities at other Soros-sponsored institutions such as Central European University, and European University in St. Petersburg.
