The Student Intellectual Life Committee
STUDENTS INTELLECTUAL LIFE COMMITTEE (SILC) Students Intellectual Life Committee: Purpose, Objectives, and Justification The Students Intellectual Life Committee was established (fall of 2006) to help cultivate and consolidate an environment necessary for the intellectual growth of students in American University of Central Asia. The mission of SILC speaks to the overarching goal of the University, which is to promote excellence in research, learning, and overall qualitative development of AUCA students. The University seeks to facilitate an intellectual/academic culture, ensure that students harness and maximize the benefits of education, and equip them with the skills essential for future careers in government, diplomatic service, teaching, non-governmental organizations, and private corporations in Central Asia and beyond. To advance these objectives, SILC focuses its policy initiatives on five main issue areas: (i) Participation in International Conferences/Workshops (ii) Undergraduate Student Research (iii) Quality Library Resources (iv) Students Learning Center (v) Extra-Curricular Activities.
