Call for applications for the Bard College

Program in International Education

 

Fall 2013

  

The Bard College Program in International Education (PIE) is pleased to announce a new call for applications for one semester of study on Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York State.  PIE will bring together students from Bard's network of international partners (including AUCA, Smolny College, Al-Quds University, ECLA of Bard in Berlin, and University of Witwatersrand).

 

The program provides a Bard tuition waiver and students may apply for additional scholarships to cover costs. NB: Students are responsible for paying for their own airfare and visa costs.

 

Students at Bard College register for sixteen credits per semester.

  

Eligibility/Criteria

 

The program is open to current sophomores majoring in the following nine academic programs:

- American Studies
- Anthropology
- Economics
- European Studies
- International and Comparative Politics
- Journalism and Mass Communications
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Software Engineering
Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to active civic engagement (i.e., involvement in community service, student clubs, student government, etc.).

 

How to apply

 

All required documentation should be submitted to Kanykei Kasybekova, Project Coordinator, AUCA-Bard College Partnership at kasybekova_k@mail.auca.kg, room 227 (both electronically and in hard copy) by 5pm, March 5, 2013. Late applications will not be considered.

Documentation should include (NB: the forms can be found at http://www.auca.kg/en/bard1/):

- the application form (fillable pdf form - shall be typed);
- the scholarship form;
- two academic references in sealed envelopes (Recommendation 1 and Recommendation 2 should be typed as well);
- a scanned official transcript.
The final decisions will be made by Bard College.
