OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS | EVENTSResearch Design and MethodsApril 26, 2012 The workshop aims to familiarize participants with some important features of research design in the social sciences. The main assumption behind this first part of the workshop is that 'social science is a debate' (Hancke, 2010) and that scholars should find a way to locate themselves within an on-going scholarly conversation and contribute to it.
1 session - 23 April at 16.00-17.15 (room 223) focuses on the formulation of research questions, hypotheses, and arguments 2 session - 24 April at 16.00-17.15 (room 403) focuses on preparation of a literature review 3 session - 25 April at 16.00-17.15 (room 403) introduces the role that comparative methodology plays in social science research 4 session - 26 April at 16.00-17.15 (room 223) focuses on role of case studies play in social science research
