Merit-based Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to outstanding students regardless of the student’s financial need. To qualify for these awards the student must have demonstrated a particularly high standard of academic performance or some other kind of achievement. These scholarships are need-blind so there is no requirement for the student to submit proof of financial need. *

English Language or Math Republican Olympiad Scholarships

Amount: 95% tuition
Students who have won the Republican Olympiads in Kyrgyzstan are eligible for this scholarship. This award is made to one of the top winners. This award is automatically renewable as long as the student maintains an overall GPA of at least 3.2, is highly motivated and extensively involved in extracurricular activities. A GPA of less than 3.2 will result in the scholarship award being withdrawn, however the student may still apply for a need-based scholarship.

Brain-Ring Scholarships (3)

Amount: up to 85% tuition
The Brain-Ring is specially organized by AUCA in order to identify students with a high level of erudition and intellect. Following testing of high schools students, eighty are selected to participate in the Brain-Ring intelligence game. The scholarship is awarded to the top three winners. These awards are automatically renewable as long as overall GPA of at least 3.2 is maintained, the students show strong leadership qualities, are highly motivated and extensively involved in extracurricular activities. A GPA of less than 3.2 will result in the scholarship award being withdrawn, however the student may still apply for a need-based scholarship.

· First place – 85%  tuition
· Second place – 80%  tuition
· Third place – 75%  tuition

Gold Certificate Scholarships (15)

Amount: 80% tuition
Gold Certificates are awarded to fifty students that have the best results in a special Kyrgyz Republican Test. A Gold Certificate affirms the exceptional academic ability of a high school student. The University welcomes and encourages these students to apply to AUCA. The top fifteen Gold Certificate holders are offered an 80% tuition scholarship. These awards are automatically renewable as long as overall GPA of at least 3.2 is maintained, the students show strong leadership qualities, are highly motivated and extensively involved in extracurricular activities. A GPA of less than 3.2 will result in the scholarship award being withdrawn, however the student may still apply for a need-based scholarship.

President’s Academic Scholarship (1)

Amount: up to 60% tuition 
The scholarship is available to one freshman from the countryside (except oblast centers) of the Kyrgyz Republic with the highest scores on entrance exams. A GPA of less than 3.2 will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship award; although the student may still apply for a need-based scholarship.

Stream Music Scholarships (3)

Amount: up to 85% tuition
As a liberal arts university, AUCA supports students who have great musical talents. The scholarship is awarded to the top three winners. These awards are automatically renewable as long as minimum overall GPA of at least 3.2 is maintained, the students show strong leadership qualities, are highly motivated and they are extensively involved in extracurricular activities. A GPA of less than 3.2 will result in the scholarship award being withdrawn, however the student may still apply for a need-based scholarship.

· First place  – 85% tuition
· Second place – 80% tuition
· Third place  – 75% tuition

*Please be aware that all the scholarships are granted for one year and will be extended only if the applicants meet all the requirements.
